Work undertaken: upgraded cross-travel drives for melt-shop crane
Work undertaken and technical support
- Installation of upgraded cross-travel drives for the site’s melt shop crane, which is used to unload billets of aerospace grade steel
- Supply of PIV units with fabricated steel cases to accommodate the extreme shock incurred during loading
- Supply and fitting bespoke torque reaction arms to suit the crane and carriages
- Supply of a shrink disc (fitted on site)
Work was completed during TATA’s summer shutdown and was undertaken at height in accordance with TATA’s stringent safety standards.
Technical support included specifying the upgraded solution, supplying general arrangement drawings and design, providing calculations for torque reaction linkages
