The new CFS3 valve combines high performances with ultra-compact design, while maintaining interface compatibility with the rest of the BFP bankable valves range.
Specifying single components within a hydraulic system from different suppliers can be a time consuming and involving task. Not only does each component need to be checked for application suitability, it also needs to be checked for compatibility with the rest of the system. Brevini has now brought all of the groups own hydraulic power brands under the umbrella of Brevini Fluid Power, to help customers source an entire system solution from a single supplier; reducing purchasing and integration costs, whilst improving reliability and efficiency.
Brevini Power Transmission has completed the first stage of its development plan which will eventually see its two UK sites undergo expansion to increase its warehousing, distribution and gearbox servicing capacity. The initial investment was spent at the Scunthorpe location to optimise the gearbox service centre and expand the offices to create space for product training for
customers and graduate employees.
Brevini Power Transmission and Brevini Fluid Power provide the winches and track drives to Ormet, completing their ‘Jekko’ minicrane. The Cranes have joined an all-star cast in the latest film in the Transformers saga: Age of Extinction.
Selecting the correct design of gearbox for your application can be a crucial decision that will affect performance, efficiency, reliability and cost. So, having a good understanding of the basic principles and suitable applications is essential.
Dave Brown, Sales Manager at Brevini, offers some technical guidance.
It has always been the case that fresh out of college or university; engineering graduates have knowledge gaps which can only be filled with real world experience. However, with technology developing at a rapid rate, these gaps are becoming ever wider as courses are expected to cover more ground. Rather than lamenting failing standards in education, maybe it is the job of companies operating in the UK to develop more graduate training programmes, to make sure that the wealth of experience that our established engineering force has is passed down to the new generation.
Dave Brown, Sales Manager for Brevini Power Transmission, explains how graduate training programmes can improve the individual performance of recently qualified engineers while also maintaining the standard of UK Engineering on the world stage.
Brevini Power Transmission is delighted to announce that it has received type approval from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for the following applications:
Crane applications – hoisting and slewing mechanisms
As public opinion continues to turn against environmentally harmful landfill sites, ever increasingly innovative methods to improve recycling are being developed. Global Renewables is responsible for one of the most sophisticated waste treatment processes in the UK, including breaking kitchen and garden waste down into compost and methane. Brevini Power Transmission has supplied 12 planetary gearboxes which offer the reliability and efficiency necessary to keep the treatment process operational.
Traditionally, vehicle drive systems have been based around axles and in many cases they remain a solid solution. However, with vehicle manufacturers constantly looking to reduce size and weight, while still improving performance and profits, a different approach is required. Designers have been turning their attention to wheel and track drives, which incorporate a planetary gear design.
By the end of 2014 the World’s largest platform installation / decommissioning and pipelay vessel will be ready for offshore operations; and on board will be 32 High-Power gearboxes from Brevini Power Transmission. Capable of producing 2,000 tonnes of tension, the abandon and recovery winches will be used as part of the pipe laying equipment on board the Pieter Schelte, which is currently being built by the Korean shipyard Daewoo.
